Chemical Peels.

What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a solution that is applied to the face to help improve and smooth the tone and texture of the facial skin.

What type of results will I see?
Shortly after your chemical peel your “new skin” will be apparent and you should notice a smoothed out, more refreshed look.

You will notice a difference after the very first treatment, however, most people require a series of treatments to be completely satisfied with the results.  The conditions that can be improved by chemical peels include:

  •  Improves the appearance of aged and sundamaged skin.
  •  Improves skin tone and texture.
  •  Reduces the appearance of fine lines and superficial wrinkles.
  •  Reduces the appearance of superficial acne scarring.
  •  Improves hyperpigmentation and melasma (brown spots)
  •  Helps reduce excess oils, improves acne, blackheads and whiteheads.
  •  Restores the skin’s natural glow.

Can anyone have a chemical peel?
Chemical peels are ideal for both women and men seeking to improve their skin and achieve a more healthy, younger appearance.  Chemical peels are usually done on most skin types and conditions.  Complementary consultations are available by appointment with our esthetician for anyone interested in this procedure.

What is involved in the therapy?
Chemical peels differ in ingredients and strength. Depth of peeling achieved also varies according to the amount of time the chemical is left on the skin and whether the peel is lightly, heavily or vigorously applied. The procedure usually takes less than 30 minutes.  You may feel a mild tingling or stinging feeling.

How long do the results of a chemical peel last?
Depending on the individual skin type and condition, Bakal Dermatology will recommend a  treatment regimen designed to give you optimum results.  The intervals between each treatment are usually 2- 3 weeks. Periodic repeat treatments are usually done every 1-3 months to help maintain results.
